Abstract

This article asserted the findings from the study of intention to leave a job at a public sector university among university teachers in terms of a bad work environment. It had been observed that several teachers had the intention to leave a job based on multiple interlinked factors. A cross-sectional survey had been conducted among 436 teachers from two public sector universities through a classified random sampling technique. A structured questionnaire had been developed and pretested from randomly selected 30 respondents. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) techniques had been employed. The study findings revealed that the intention to leave a job at a public sector university among university teachers had been linked with multiple factors including lack of physical facilities, lack of promotion and rewards, poor work conditions, bad attitude of co-workers, bad work cultures, and lack of well-being.
